Right on the heels of the launch of the SJP Collection, Nine West launches their Spring 2014 shoe collaboration with InStyle magazine. Carlis from SpicyCandyDC and I stopped by our local Nine West in Georgetown to see the collection in person. 

This is the second season Nine West has partnered with InStyle to create a unique editor-designed collection. The first 9W♥InStyle capsule collection in Fall 2013 has since been expanded to include accessories - featuring not only sandals and pumps but also cuffs and clutches inspired by runway trends.

The Spring 2014 footwear collection offers a sophisticated approach to the season’s shoe must-haves; incorporating editorial touches such as elevated heel heights, seasonal colors, and premium materials. 


My obvious favorite from the collection is the Gamin D'Orsay heels in red leather. I have wide feet and normally don't d'orsay but these heels looked great on. At first, they felt a little tight on the sides, but the longer they were on, the more comfortable they felt - some shoes just need to be broken in. I love how the cutaway arch and the low side vamp make legs look longer and sleeker.

I've had a girl crush on Sarah Jessica Parker since I first saw her in my all time favorite movie, Girls Just Want to Have Fun. My favorite SJP moment from that movie is of course the finale (**spoiler alert**) when her character, Janey Glenn, wins the Dance TV dance competition by executing a very dramatic synchronized gymnastics routine with her partner. It's...Amazing! If you haven't seen it, you need to. It's full of ridiculously wonderful 80s fashion and music. One of my best friends found the DVD for me, and it's one of my most cherished possessions - up there with my Chanel bag. I'm serious.

I also loved SJP in LA Story, Hocus Pocus, and then of course, the obsession increased to a new level when I discovered Sex and the City. The show brings back so many fun memories of nights laughing with my girlfriends over the absurdity of the SATC ladies' dating lives and swooning over the designer fashion.

My SJP crush even brought me to Steve and Barry's when she launched her first clothing line. Oh yes, I bought the winning Project Runway look designed by Victorya Hong. Sadly, I lost the bow dress and vest at some point when I moved to DC.

So, of course, I had to see the launch of SJP's new shoe line at Nordstrom. My local Nordstrom threw a fun little party to celebrate the launch with mocktails, yummy bites and makeovers. I tried on a few pairs of shoes and below are my top 5 favorites.
