Menswear-inspired looks worn by women are still going strong for Fall and Winter. One simple way to add the trend to your wardrobe is with boyfriend coats. I picked up this Achro Drop Shoulder Boyfriend Coat from one of my favorite local boutiques, Anthom. The oversized cut is the perfect shape to fit my bump and keep me and my baby warm, and the cropped length is the right complement to my 5'3" body.

Whenever I'm asked to describe my style, I always say some form of this, "classic & structured with unique details". This look is a good example of that description. It's a classic black and white pairing (which I'm favoring a lot again this season) but with a bell-bottom sleeved top and white culottes instead of a regular pair of white pants.

Have you heard the word "athleisure"? It's a somewhat new word that describes clothing that can be worn for both athletic or leisure pursuits. Whether you like it or not athleisure is definitely becoming a big trend as evidenced by all the women who wear yoga pants everywhere. These Bobeau track pants from my previous menwear-inspired post are a good example of the althleisure trend. I can wear them to work out (if I wanted to) and do wear them to walk all around the city. The best part for me is that they're loose and comfortable on my baby bump.

I love it when I've been eyeing a specific piece of clothing online or in a store, and then I find it at Marshalls priced way less! These Bobeau track\harem pants are a perfect example of that. I almost ordered them online at Nordstrom for $48, but found them at Marshalls for $24.99. Don't get me wrong, I love Nordstrom too, but why pay almost $50 for a pair of pants when you can pay $25! Marshalls makes shopping so guilt free.

With tapered legs and elastic cuffs at the ankles, these pants are tailored enough to wear to meet with clients and yet so comfortable that they can also be worn running errands on the weekends. When your closet space is as limited as mine, you need pieces that can can work and play. What do you think of this menswear inspired styling? I've written about my love for Rent the Runway (RTR) before. I've been a long time fan and customer (my first rental was in 2009), and I have continued to go to them for important events where I wanted to feel special but didn't want to invest in another dress. I've always been very pleased with their continually updated selection and even more pleased with their customer service.

So when I got invited to Washingtonian's Style Setters party, I went directly to RTR. I knew I didn't want to buy a new dress, and I couldn't wear an old one because my baby bump and my butt are growing everyday. They even have a "bump friendly" filter under "BODY TYPE" which made it much easier for me to make my selection. I went with the BCBGMAXAZRIA "Cross my Heart Gown", Halston Heritage "Tortoise Paneled Minaudiere", and a House of Harlow's "Gold Textured Cut-out Cuff" (all care of RTR). With the dress rental they let you pick out a backup size for free. I ordered a 2 and a 4 and ended up wearing the 4. I actually picked out the Inge Christopher "Corsica Scale Clutch" first but was notified by customer service prior to shipment that it had come back from the previous renter a little damaged so they let me pick out any bag I wanted! I think the Halston bag worked out even better, and I felt like a million bucks!
