All this week I'm taking you to Fajardo, Puerto Rico where I spent a week on my babymoon. Never heard of a babymoon? It's a relaxing or romantic vacation taken by parents-to-be before their baby is born and something I highly recommend doing if you can make it work.

We chose Puerto Rico for several reasons: the warm weather, the direct flight from DC to San Juan (with Jet Blue), the short flight time (less than 4 hours - even with this duration I experienced a little swelling in my feet), and ultimately, because the flight + resort packages were within our budget.

We stayed at the El Conquistador Resort for the entire week - alternating between laying by one of their several pools and laying on their private beach island called Palomino Island. These images were taken at Palomino.

Packing and outfit planning for the trip was relatively easy because we went in the Fall and many summer pieces were on clearance. I found this cover-up in the Cube (Marshalls' Junior section) for $10 and my bikini top for less than $5 at H&M. I picked up this hat at the resort gift shop. I was a little shy about baring my bump the first day but just went for it and embraced the stares and smiles. When you're pregnant, people start to look at you like you're a puppy.
